Delete your account
You can permanently delete your Vitola account and its data at any time — from inside the app, or by emailing us if you no longer have it installed.
Delete from the app
Steps
Open Vitola → Settings tab → scroll to Danger zone → tap Delete account → confirm. The same option is available under Settings → Sign in once you are signed in.
Grace period
Deletion is scheduled with a 30-day reversal window. During that period, signing back in restores your account. After 30 days the account and its data are permanently erased.
Deleted the app already? Request by email
If you can no longer open the app, email [email protected] from the address linked to your account (or, for device-only accounts, tell us the approximate creation date and any reviewer name you used) with the subject “Delete my account.” We verify ownership and complete the deletion within 30 days and confirm by reply.
What gets deleted
- Your profile — name, salutation, reviewer name, avatar photo, and taste profile
- Your library and journal — smoked cigars, wishlist, and tasting notes
- Your public reviews and their photos, and any comments you posted
- Your follows, direct messages, and notification history
- Any linked Apple or Google sign-in association and the device identifier
What may be retained
We may retain a limited record where the law requires it (for example, transaction records for tax and accounting). Purchases are billed by Apple or Google — subscription cancellation is handled in the App Store or Google Play, not by deleting your account. Residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days after erasure, after which they roll off automatically. De-identified data that can no longer be linked to you may be retained.
